By collecting and separating scrap metal, which is a great potential for recycling and re-use, we prevent waste of these valuable secondary raw materials. Percentage reusability metals is very large. Re-usability of the steel is up to 100%. Most of the scrap generated in the economy and households are aluminum and steel.

is the most abundant metal in the earth’s crust. Because of its properties (low specific gravity, strength, corrosion resistance, durability) has a very wide application. It can be recycled without loss of its natural characteristics. The recycling of aluminum saves 95% of energy. Due to significant energy savings in recycling, in relation to obtaining aluminum from bauxite, aluminum has a large share in recycled scrap metal. Available data show that in Europe people recycle 42% aluminum cans, 85% of the aluminum from construction materials and 95% aluminum from vehicles.

is an alloy of iron. It has a wide application in the manufacture, and its properties can vary depending on the composition. Work on improving basic properties is continuous, goal is to obtain new varieties that are lighter, stronger, thinner. The recycling of steel saves 74% energy.

How important is collection and recycling of paper, depicted by the fact that recycling 1 ton of waste paper save 17 trees. Separate collection and recycling of paper protect the forests and water, save energy and natural resources, reducing the amount of waste.

Paper recycling provides a reduction of water pollution by 35% and 74% less air pollution in relation to primary production of paper. Paper can be recycled 4-6 times.

Every day in households and industry creates a large amount of paper waste. To be able to re-use waste paper and to get sufficient quality raw material for recycling process, it is important to collect paper separately from other waste.

Nature needs more than 100 years to degrade plastic bags that get into the environment. During the degradation, slowly emit toxic chemicals that get into the soil, lakes, rivers and seas, causing permanent consequences for wildlife.

Except above mentioned, we dispose other hazardous, non-hazardous and construction waste, too. The largest amount of hazardous waste is generating in industrial production. Hazardous waste must be disposed of in the prescribed manner with the aim of reaching preventing toxic chemical elements in nature. The Law on sustainable waste management define that hazardous waste is any waste that contains substances that have any of the following characteristics: explosiveness, reactivity, flammability, irritability, noxiousness, toxicity, infectivity, carcinogenicity, mutagenicity, teratogenicity, ecotoxicity, characteristic oxidizing property etching and as degassing chemical reaction or biological decomposition.
